Last month we did Millie’s First Birthday Cake Smash Photoshoot at Gavin’s grandparents’ home outside in their yard in front of their wooden fence. The weather could not have been better for an outdoor cake smash. It was sunny and in the 60’s, giving us the perfect fall-day glow in every photo.
For Millie’s cake smash session, we went with the them “One Little Pumpkin” since her birthday is during the fall. I painted real pumpkins pink and gold, and then also added some orange and white pumpkins too.I hung a banner that said “One Little Pumpkin” on the fence behind her. It tied the entire theme together and added the sweetest touch to her photos. It was the perfect phrase for our little one-year-old pumpkin girl.
Millie’s outfit couldn’t have matched the theme more perfectly. She wore the cutest pink and orange tutu, with a onesie that had a gold glitter pumpkin with the word “One” on it — the sweetest little detail for a fall first birthday girl.
The pink pumpkin smash cake was made by Jamie Cakes. The flavor of the cake was vanilla. Millie surprised us all. Instead of diving into her cake, she barely ate any of it and, shockingly, didn’t make much of a mess at all! She did love eating it though!
We hired Whitney Paige Photography to take Millie’s cake smash photos and it’s always a pleasure to work with. She also took Millie’s newborn photos.
