It’s hard to believe our sweet little girl is ONE! A week ago we celebrated Millie’s first Birthday. To celebrate her special day, we hosted a sweet “One Little Pumpkin” first birthday at home with our family.
The pumpkin balloon garland was the statement piece for our One Little Pumpkin first birthday party! With pink, white, and orange, it added the perfect touch of fall while still feeling soft and girly. We mixed in actual pumpkin-shaped balloons, giving it a fun, festive look that tied the whole theme together. If you need balloons at you next event, head to whatspoppiniowa.com and fill out an inquiry form. My mom and I would to make your event extra special.
Hanging right above the garland was a large custom painted banner that read “Our Little Pumpkin is One, Millie’s First Birthday.” It had the prettiest touch of gingham, delicate gold accents, and even a little bow on the pumpkin design. Taylor Made Banners painted it. If you need a painted banner for your next event, definitely check her out.
One of my favorite parts of the party was our memory table, which showcased all of Millie’s special moments from her first year. We set it up with a birthday board (use code AMANDAK15 at checkout for a discount) featuring a photo from newborn to 12 months old. It was so sweet looking back on how much she’s grown and seeing all twelve months side by side.
The table also had a guest book where family could leave a thoughtful message for her to read one day, a framed photo of Millie from her cake smash a couple weeks back, and a framed first-year poster with all her favorite milestones, and fun facts from the past year. It was such a meaningful way to celebrate everything that made her first trip around the sun so special.
And because I love a good DIY project, I also made a custom birthday banner with Millie’s faces on it from each month. It was a labor of love and it turned out to be the cutest addition! It added such a fun and personal touch to the space, and everyone loved seeing her sweet expressions through the months.
Our kitchen island turned into the snack table, filled with the cutest pumpkin-themed treats and fall-inspired snacks. We made a pumpkin-shaped veggie tray, using baby carrots, cucumbers for the eyes, nose and mouth, and celery for the stem. Next to it, we had the “pumpkin” cuties (little orange clementines with tiny celery stems, pumpkin sugar cookies (made by Farmhouse Sweets) decorated with pastel icing, and strawberry, and almond white chocolate macarons made by Megan’s Macarons.
Millie had a smash cake that was vanilla flavored and decorated with tiny fondant pumpkins on top – it was the sweetest little treat made just for her. I ordered the cakes from Jamie’s Cakes.
I absolutely loved the theme of this party and how it all turned out – from the soft fall colors, to the personalized touches, it was exactly what I imagined and more. Celebrating her at home made the day feel cozy and personal. If you’re planning a fall first birthday party, for your little one, this theme is not only adorable but super easy to create.
